Kerik, the former New York City Police Commissioner and member of the TASER International Board of Directors who has accepted a position as senior policy advisor in Iraq's reorganized Interior Ministry under Ambassador L. Paul Bremer III.

As a former undercover narcotics detective, Mr. Kerik led the New York City Police Department through the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and is touted for his role in drastically reducing crime. Mr. Kerik also brings a wealth of experience to the new job with his unique background and familiarity with the Middle Eastern culture and politics. In the 1970's, he worked in the region as a security expert, including four years in the employ of the Saudi royal family. Mr. Kerik was commissioner of the New York City Correction Department before his appointment to police commissioner in August 2000.
